However, many of you already have accounts via invitation. So, you may want to have all your photos from Facebook to Google+. Here is how you can do it.

Download data from Facebook
Login to your Facebook account and click on Account>Account Settings and click “learn more” link to next to Download Your Information. In that page, request to download your information. It might take a while for Facebook to gather all your information and send you a link in your email.

Extract and select photos for upload
Extract the archive and separate out photos if you don’t want every photo to be in your Google Plus account.

Upload to Google Plus
Login to Google Plus, click on the photos icon and then click on Upload New Photos button. Then click Select Photos From Your Computer button. You can select multiple files from the same folder by holding Ctrl or Shift. You can also select all files from the same folder by pressing Ctrl+A. After selecting files, don’t forget to enter album name. When done uploading, click on Create Album.

Hope this helps. Enjoy the Google+ experience.

I’ve been lately addicted to a facebook game called Cricket Master Blaster. It is a nice game.

There is a feature which allows players to send challanges to their friends. If someone sends you such a challange, you may want to win the challange by retrying again and again, but that is not allowed. You are allowed to accept only once and you have to make it the first time. However, the following hack will help you.

Requirements:
Firefox
Adblock Plus Extension

Launch Firefox, login to Facebook and open up Cricket Master Blaster http://apps.facebook.com/masterblaster/. Then view the challanges. Now, with the challanges window open, Bring up Blockable Items from Adblock Plus menu (generally at the top right corner of Firefox) and look for something like http://174.129.13.216/masterblaster/. If the IP is the same there, goto Adblock Plus menu and under preferences, add http://174.129.13.216/masterblaster/* as a filter. Now, keep the Adblock Plus enabled, accept challanges and play on.

If you won the challange, you can disable Adblock Plus and simply submit the score.

If you lose however, keep the Adblock Plus blocked, refresh (reload) the page and then Disable Adblock Plus. Then refresh again. Now, all you need to do is accept challange, enable Adblock Plus and play on. You can try this over and over again untill you win. After you win, disable Adblock Plus and then Submit score.

This hack works as of taday Jan 6, 2010. Hope you found this before they managed to fix it.

Happy Gaming.

I use Facebook a lot and recently I came across a few games that use Javascript and are Click Challenges. They are Challenge Click (mychallengeclick) , Impossible Click Final (o_myclick). They can simply be tricked by modifying JavaScripts using Firebug. So here is what you need:
Firefox
Firebug Plugin for Firefox
I am using Firefox 3.5.5 and Firebug 1.4.5 but other versions should work just fine.

Here is how you proceed with the hack. I will show you how to trick Challenge Click (mychallengeclick), however, you can use a similar method to hack Impossible Click Final (o_myclick) (and anything similar as well). I’ll assume you have installed Firefox and Firebug already.
Open the Application: http://apps.facebook.com/mychallengeclick/
Now, activate Firebug by clicking the icon in the status bar.
Click the inspect button on the top right corner of Firebug. Here is what inspect looks like in my PC.

Facebook Hack Challenge Click (Click to Enlarge)

That logo may look different in your OS, Firebug. Now, click on the “Start” and it should highlight the following code in the Firebug Pane below.

1

<input type="button" fbcontext="bc98bb5e5df2" style="padding: 0px; color: black; width: 100%; height: 210px; font-size: 57px;" onmousedown="fbjs_sandbox.instances.a184094167325.bootstrap();return fbjs_dom.eventHandler.call([fbjs_dom.get_instance(this,184094167325),function(a184094167325_event) {a184094167325_click()},184094167325],new fbjs_event(event));" value="Start!" id="app184094167325_ctime"/>

Now, click on onmousedown and change it to onmouseover. Now change the onmouseover action

1

or something similar. All I have done is surrounded the code inside a for loop which loops 1211 times (you may choose any other value to your liking) and removed “return” otherwise the loop will not execute.

Now, just move your mouse over the start button and voila. Your points should sky-rocket. Publish and annoy your friends.

Hope you like it.

A few days ago, I had written a blog post about uploading multiple photos to your Facebook account using Windows Version of Google Picasa using Wine. The same can be achieved with F-spot, a great photo manager for Linux.Launch F-spot and import all your photos or those you want to upload to Facebook. This may take some time depending upon the number and size of photos and your Options. You may choose not to copy photos to Photos directory and not to detect duplicates to make the process a lot faster. F-spot may seem to not respond for a while, but that is OK. It should be working on the background.

After you have your photos on F-spot, you must enable Facebook Export Plugin. That is not done by default as of version 0.6.3, the one I am using. So, you must reach for Edit > Manage Extensions and then in Export, select FacebookExport and enable it and then close the dialog box. Then select the photos you want to upload and then click on Photo > Export > Facebook. The first time you use this, it will ask you to login to Facebook. Login and Allow the application. Then you may choose to Allow the application to upload photos by marking “Auto Confirm Photos” so that you need not bother about approving the photos after you upload. Then, select an album or create one and then start upload.

Hope this helps.

UPDATE Nov 2, 2008: If you don’t want to get into trouble installing Windows version of Picasa and happy to use F-spot instead, head over to the new article here.

The picasa application from Google repositories with Facebook button does not work for Facebook photo uploads. It ends up with a blank window with nothing but a link. However, I have found an alternative in Ubuntu Forums and it works.

The trick is to install Windows Internet Explorer under wine and then install the Windows version of Picasa. To do this, make sure you have wine installed and picasa removed from your system.
This is how you do it:
Open terminal and then create a directory

1

mkdir ielinux

Download ies4linux, the internet explorer installer for linux and run it.

1
2
3

wget http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/downloads/ies4linux-latest.tar.gz
tar zxvf ies4linux-latest.tar.gz
cd ies4linux-*

Now run the following command

1

./ies4linux

If you do get an error, close the dialog and run it again as long as it is not completely installed.
After it is done, type in the following:

1

wget http://www.khattam.info/junk/picasadownloader.sh ; chmod 777 picasadownloader.sh ;./picasadownloader.sh

The installer will automatically be launched. Perform the setup as you would do on Windows.
Now, install facebook button. To do so, run the following command

1

wget http://www.khattam.info/junk/fbbtndownloader ; chmod 777 fbbtndownloader ;./fbbtndownloader

Now install picasa launcher. To do so, run the following set of commands

1
2
3

wget http://www.khattam.info/junk/picasa
sudo cp picasa /usr/bin/picasa
sudo chmod 777 /usr/bin/picasa

Now, launch picasa by running picasa from the terminal or from Run Applications Dialog (Alt+F2).

To upload pictures, select the pictures and click the Facebook button. You will be asked to login, select or create the album and then photos will be uploaded. See your album on Facebook to confirm the pictures.

If picasa stops responding, you can kill it by typing in the following command:

1

killall wineserver

If you use Konqueror and use Facebook, you might have noticed that Chat Window does not show up as normal and opens in a new window. In firefox or other supported browsers, you will see chat icon as this one:

Firefox Facebook Chat

If you click on that one, you will be able to chat normally.

However, when you use Konqueror or other unsupported browser, you might see something like this one:

Konwueror Facebook Chat

If you click on this however, the chat will open in a new window.

To fix this, all you need to do is change the Browser Identification of Konqueror to Firefox for Facebook. This is how you do it. In Konqueror, go to Settings > Configure Konqueror Browser Identification and then in Site Specific Identification, click on new and then fill in the following information:
When Browsing the Following Site: facebook.com
Use the Following Identification: Firefox 3.0.5 (or any other Firefox version available)
Real Identification: (Leave as it changes automatically)
Here is what it should look like:

Facebook Chat Opens in a new window Fix (Click to Enlarge)

Now, it should work as normal.

Hope this helped.
